The Cavs dropped to 0-2 when they lost in Toronto 101-91 dispite LeBrons triple double of 23pts 12ast and 11reb. Chris Bosh had 21pts and 16reb and former 1st overall pick Bargnani had 28pts. The newest Raptor Hedu Turkoglu added 12pts 7reb 3ast and 3blk.
The Celtics imbarassed the Bobcats on their opening night 92-59. The T-Wolves had a comback win over the Nets. As Damein Wilkins former Oklahoma City Thunder hit a game winner at the buzzer 95-93 as Minnesota outscored New Jersey in the 4th 31-15. The Hornets looked bad in their lose to the Spurs 113-96 as CP3 had little help. He led of course with 26pts 9ast but had no stl and 5tos. Newcomer Emeka Okafor did hold his own with 18pts 10reb in less than 30min and David West added 18pts and 9reb. Denver beat Utah 114-105 led by Carmelos 30pts 8reb and 5ast. Billups had 25pts and the rookie PG from UNC Ty Lawson had 17pts 6ast in 26min off the bench. Deron Williams led the Jazz with 28pts 13ast and 5tos. Houston won at Golden St 108-107 to bounce back from their opening lose. Trevor Ariza led them with 25pts 5ast and 5reb Scola 21pts 11reb and Brooks 18pts and 12ast. They only played 9 players. Monta Ellis had 26pts to lead the Warriors also 5ast 1st round draft pick Steph Curry added 14pts 7ast and 4stl. The Suns beat the Clipps 109-107 as Steve Nash went past a much slimmer Baron Davis for the go ahead layup. Gordon took a ridiculous shot to try to win it at the buzzer and he missed. This was a game that the Clippers must win if they want to be taken serious about making a playoff push because I feel that the Suns who are also in their division, our (Lakers) division is a team they will be fighting with for that 8th seed. Nash finished with 24pts 8ast and 3tos. Grant Hill had 19pts and 13ast. Camby filled the stat sheet with 23pts 11reb 3blk 3stl and 3ast. BD had a double double after he sucked against us 12pts and 12ast and Rasul Butler was huge with 19pts off the bench.
My young boys the Oklahoma City Thunder won their season opener over the Sacramento Kings 102-89. Kevin "KD" Durant who once Kobe retires will be the best scorer in the league along with Melo and challenge Melo, Wade, James and CP3 as the best player led his team with 25pts 11reb and 4ast. His sidekick Jeff Green had 24pts 8reb and 3blk and Russell Westbrook added 14pts 13ast and 7reb. Sac rookie Tyreke Evans had 10pts 2ast and 3tos Kevin Martin led the way with 27pts and 3stl.
Lastnight the Spurs looked old and tired playing Chicago on their back-to-back. The Bulls won 92-85 Deng led the even scoring attack with 17pts and 9reb. Last years Rookie of the Year Derrick Rose had 13pts 7ast and 7reb with only 1to and Hinrich added 14pts 6reb off the bench. Timmy had no help as he put in 28pts 16reb and 3blk. In a battle with two of the top 10 players in the league Melo (top3) and B.Roy went at it in Portland with the Nuggets winning 97-94. Carmelo was amazing and unstoppable scoring 20 of his teams 42pts in the first half. After only 2pts in the 3rd he killed the 4th with 19pts giving him 41pts total also 6reb. Roy had 30pts 5reb 5ast.

My Lakers kicked off our title defense Tuesday Night on the opening night of the season. But before our game we recieved our championship rings and lifted our 15th Championship banner. At the ceremony we had past Laker great champions such as "Mr. Clutch" Jerry West, James Worthy, Rick Fox and the great Magic Johnson. We had a seperate special presentation for the inventer of Phils famous triangle offense, Tex Winter before the 4th qt. We were the second of TNTs double header. We defeated the other LA team 99-92 but believe me it wasnt that close as we went on cruise for a while before turning it back on to begin the 4th. Kobe led the way with 33pts 8reb 3ast and 4stl. Big Bynum stepped up to be his Robin as Pau was out with an injury. Drew had 26pts and 13reb and played 38min. In his debut with us Ron Artest had 10pts 5reb and 4ast and LO was big in starting for Gasol, 16pts 13reb 5ast and 2blk. The Clipps were led by Eric Gordons 21pts and Kamans 14reb with 18pts.
In the first game Boston came back on the Cavs in Cleveland to ruin LeBron and Shaqs debut. The score was 95-89, The C's were led by Paul Pierces 23pts and 11reb. In his return KG had 13pts 10reb and new comer Rasheed Wallace added 12pts and 3reb in 24min off the bench. LeBron had 38pts 8ast 4blk and 5tos and although he made 10 of his 13 fts he missed 2 in the clutch. In his debut Shaq recorded 10&10 in pts and reb.
Tonight we face the improved Dallas Mavericks who lost their opener at home to the Washington Wizards 102-91. Dirk led them with 34pts and 9reb and the new guy Shawn Marion added 16pts 7reb and 3blk. JJ Barea had 13pts 4ast and 6reb off the bench. The Wizards where led by their leader who has only played in 15 games in the past two years Gilbert Arenas. GA had 29pts 9ast in 38min and Caron Butler added 16pts and 8reb. Blatche and newcomer Randy Foye combined for 39pts (Blatche20) off the bench.

Coming off their first win in 10 games the Detroit Lions played well against the Chicago Bears but the Bears turned out to be too much winning 48-24. Led by Matt Forte who fiinally had his break out game of the year with 121 yds on only 12 carries and 1 TD. Jay Cutler did a good job managing the game throwing for 141 yds on 18/28 with 2 TDs and he had a John Elway in the Super Bowl vs the Packers like TD run from 5 yds out. Before he hurt his knee rookie Mathew Stafford was great going 24/36 for 296 1 TD and 1 int, his fav guy was the great alvin Johnson, as it always should be. CJ caught 8 passes for 133 yds.
The Cincinnati Bengals needed OT to be the Cleveland Browns 23-20. It was a bit of a suprise with seeing how impressive the Bengals have been this year and the Browns have looked like one of the worst teams in the league all season. Carson Palmer went 23/44 for 230 yds and 2 TDs with an int. Cedric Benson kept up his good running goin for 74 yds on 18 runs. Ochocinco caught both of Palmers TDs. Derek Anderson is back in as the starting QB in Cle which is what he shouldve been all along. He was 26/48 for 269 yds a TD and an int. His suprising go to guy was unknown rookie out of UGA Mohamed Massaquoi who had 8 cat for 148 yds. Jerome Harrison ran for 121 yds on 29 runs.
Edgerrin James made his return to Indianapolis and the crowd showed their love and appreciate for my boy EJ from DaU!!! as the backup RB in Seattle. My Colts of course still won big time 34-17 with the double up and for the first time in his career THE GREAT Peyton Manning has thrown for over 300 yds in 4 straight games. Peyton was 31/41 for 353 yds 2 TDs and an int. Dallas Clark 8 cat 80 yds, Reggie Wayne 6 cat 74 yds 1 TD, Pierre Garcon 3 cat 71 yds, Austin Collie 6 cat 65 yds and Joseph Addai 7 cat 50 yds. Seneca Wallace still filling in for the injured Matt Hasselback went 33/45 for 257 yds and a TD. EJ had 4 runs for 16 yds and a catch for 6 yds.
VINCE YOUNG!!! VINCE YOUNG!!! VINCE YOUNG!!!
The team he plays for which I will NOT say their name, sucks!!!
In New Englands 27-21 win over Baltimore the refs had way too much to do with the outcome with some absolutely horrible calls. But the Ravens still had a chance to piss off the refs and still win but former Oklahoma WR Mark Clayton dropped two clutch passes including one on 4th down after Flacco put it perfect inbetween the 8 and 9 on his jersey. Joe Flacco completed 27/47 for 264 yds 2 TDs and an int hitting Derek Mason 7 times for 88 yds and a TD. Ray Rice had 11 runs for 103 yds and 5 cat for 49 yds. Ray Lewis had 14 tackles and Terrell Suggs had 6 tackles and a forced fumble on a sack. Brady was 21/32 for 256 yds and 1 TD wit hthe TD going to Randy Moss for his first off the year. Randy caught 3 passes for 50 yds.
In the battle of which will win it, great offense vs great defense the O of the Saints won 24-10. However they also played some good D to help seal the victory. Drew Brees only had to go 20/32 for just 190 yds thats how good the Saints D and running game has become this year. Finally looking like they realize Reggie Bush is not a NFL RB they have two true backs to go to in Mike Bell and Pierre Thomas and this week it was Thomas' turn he had 19 carries for 86 yds and the only offensive TD for New Orleans. They had a fumble recovery in the endzone for a TD and Darren Sharper does it again with a 99 yd int return for the first TD. The rookie Mark Sanchez struggled throwing 3 ints and lost the fumble that was recovered for a TD.
Uh Oh looks like the Cowboys are in trouble and even bigger Uh Oh looks like the Broncos are for real. Denver beat Dallas 17-10 after trailing 10-0 at the end of the first qt. Kyle Orton has yet to throw an interception the season. In this game he went 20/29 for 243 yds and 2 TDs with Brandon Marshell being his lead WR with 4 cat for 91 yds and the game winning TD. My boy B.Marsh who I believe is a top 3 at best and top 5 at worst WR in the league was incredible in making the catch and run after to give Denver the win. In the true meaning of 'Mossing' somebody thats exactly what Marsh did to Terence Newman going right over the top of him like he was a 5th grader taking candy from a kindrgardener. He snatched the ball and then the "on paper mighty Dallas D" looked scarred to tackle him as he made tem look like fools and the guy who gave up the catch T.New (who I do like bdw) gave up on even trying to catch Brandon as he went into the endzone. Tony Romo was 25/42 for 255 yds and an int to Champ Bailey who looks to be back as one of the premire and top 5 CBs in the league. Although Romo missed numerous of looked like open WRs with passes that were high and/or off the person to me who deserves the most blame thus far is Jason Garrett the offensive cooridinator and Im not letting that weak coach Wade Phillips off the hook either. He has no control and Garrett is ridiculous. The top rushing game in the league was not able to get into a rythem because of all the passing. The Cowboys should never throw the ball 40+ times this year not even 30+ when they have the lead they had early. Brian Dawkins had 7 tackles and was the main force behind the Broncos buckling down and shutting down the Cowboy offensive after the 1st qt. Champ Bailey had 8 tackles an interception and many pass deflections including 2 on the last two plays of the Cowboys drive that got stopped at the 2 yd line. Romo was the one who got the team down there in position to all you Cowboy fans who where so deep in love with him just 3 yrs ago.
My underdog pick of the year and pick to win the West every since the summer the 49ers blank the Rams 35-0. Lead by the best young LB in the game Patrick Willis who had 8 tackles 2.5 sacks and an int that he returned 23 yds for a TD. Takeo Spike had 8 tackles and a sack also. The Niners are one knocked down pass by Brett Favre last week from being undefeated. Believe me the culture over the last decade or so has been changed big ups to the organization for making Mike Singletary the Head Coach you all see now what I knew along time ago that it was the best decision.
The defending champs are in trouble to me and I dont want to hear the lame excuse of Polamalu is out. I really dont believe that him and him alone can affect who good that defense is and if that is true than I dont want to hear all that bullcrap about how great their D is because it aint true. Troy is great and everybody else is ok at best and most of them suck... if you want to use him being out as an excuse! They where up 28-0 on San Diego with 1min left in the 3rd qt Sunday Night at home and then Phillip Rivers took over cutting the lead in half to 28-14 the nafter a Pitt score pushed it back up to 35-14 the Chargers got two more TDs making it 35-28. The Steelers did hold on to win 38-28 but it is crazy that they had to even fight in the end for the win after being out scored in the last 16 min of the 28-7. Rothlisburger was 26/33 for 333 yds and 2 TDs. And second year RB Rashard Mendenhall who started his 2nd game of his career, his 1st being last yr vs the Ravens where Ray Lewis made him pay for trash talk he did and welcome him to the league by breaking his shoulder. This go around the young talented back got to show off his skills that I first noticed while he was in college at Illinois. He had 29 carries for 165 yds and 2 TDs, very impressive even though the Chargers D is pitiful and Shawne Marriman should be ashamed. With no running game because Waco via Marlin native LT is all but finished (and damn it hurts me deep to say that but it hurts even worse to watch him struggle and fade away) and as good as Sproles is he is just too small to carry a whole load. So Rivers brought the team back all by himself with his WRs but mainly AllPro TE Antonio Gates. Rivers was 21/36 for 254 yds and 3 TDs 2 of which to Gates who caught 9 passes for 124 yds.
Brett Favre does it again! In his first game against the team that he gave 16 yrs of his life to he led his new team, their arch rival to a win over them 30-23. Brett had to win the game as the Packers found a way to eliminate AD. He was 24/31 for 271 yds and 3 TDs with no interceptions. Mainly going to Bernard Berrian who had 6 cat 75 yds 1 TD and Sidney Rice 5 cat 70 yds 1 TD. AD only had 55 yds on 25 carries with 1 TD. His successer Aaron Rodgers was great in defeat though esp under all the pressure he was under because of his horrible line that allowed him to be sacked 8 times. Rodgers threw for 384 yds on 26/37 passsing with 2 TDs and an int. Jermichael Finley caught 6 passes for 128 yds and a TD.

My freshman Tate Forcier couldnt pull it off again as Michigan lost for the first time this year. The loss came at the hands of their in state rival Michigan St, final score 26-20 in OT. Michigan St were up 20-6 with only a little over 4 min left in the game until my boy played Captin Comeback again throwing two 4th qt touchdowns to tie it up and force overtime. First in the heavy rain and wind he hit Darryl Stonum for a 60 yd TD then with :02 remaining in regulation he hooked up with Roy Roundtree to cap off a 92 yd drive. In OT an exhausted Forcier from running and passing his team back into the game made his only mistake of the day when his pass got tipped in the endzone and was intercepted. Michigan St took advantage and Larry Caper took in from 23 yds out to end it. Tate was 17/32 for 223 yds the 2 late TDs and 1 int. He also had 13 runs for 27 yds.
LSU stepped up to all the critics who felt them being ranked #4 was a fluke and they havent played anyone (kind of like the Denver Broncos of college) and they beat Georgia 20-13. The end was dramatic after the game wad rather boring throughout. AJ Green caught a 16 yd pass from Cox for a TD to put UGA up 13-12 with only 1:09 left. It looked over LSU until Charles Scott took it up the middle 33 yds for the go ahead and game winning TD with :46 remaining. Scott had 19 carries for 95 yds on the day and 2 TDs. Green caught 5 passes for 99 yds and the TD.
Notre Dame wins another close one in OT. This one against Washington, 37-30. Led by their Jr QB and one of the top canidates for the Heisman Jimmy Clausen who went 23/31 for 422 yds 2 TDs and 1 int. His top WR was Golden Tate who caught 9 passes for 244 yds and 1 TD. Washington QB Jake Locker was also impressive going 22/40 281 yds and 1 TD and 16 runs for 33 yds and a TD. Chris Polk ran for 136 yds on 22 carries to lead Wash on the ground. It was a back and forth game with 7 lead changes. Wash looked to be in control with about 3 min left up 27-22 until Jimmy threw a TD with 1 min left. Then Locker led a drive to get Erik Folk in position for his game tying FG to go to OT tied at 30. But to much D for ND in OT.
Auburn trying to show they are for real as they beat Tennessee 26-22. They led throughout and it looked to be a blow out with the score 23-6 in the 4th qt. Then Tenn began the comeback Montario Hardesty caught a pass from Jonathan Crompton and took it 31 yds for a TD. Then a late FG made it 23-16 only a TD behind now for the Vols but with :39 remaining Aub put it out of reach with a FG. Tenn scored a TD with no time left but it was just not enough. Chris Todd is now the fulltime starter at QB with them moving the more mobile Kodi Burns to WR. Burns has been a great leader about the situation, of course he wants to be QB and he let the team know that when he addressed them earlier this season after the decision was made but he also said he just wants to help the team win and is willing to do whatever it takes. Todd was 19/32 218 and a TD while Burns was 1/3 17 yds and had 5 runs for 16 yds. Ben Tate led the team with 128 yds on 25 carries and a TD. For Tenn Hardesty had 90 yds on 21 runs and caught 3 for 56 yds with one TD on both. Crompton completed 20/43 for 259 yds 2 TDs and 0 ints.
IF YOU STILL HATING ON THIS U!!! THEN GO TO HELL!!! CAUSE WE BACK!!!
THE... MY Miami Hurricanes knocked off one of my top 2 most hated teams, (USC the other) Oklahoma 21-20. We came out and couldnt stop the run early wit hOU jumping to a 0-10 lead early in the second qt. Then the goat of last weeks lost for us basketball player Jimmy Graham held on this time to catch a 18 yd TD pass from JaCroy to get us back into it at 7-10. After the early rush from OU when they picked off JaCory twice on passes that looked like he and his WRs were not on the same page the D calmed down and took control of the game shutting down OUs offense. OU got the ball to start the second half but the D forced a fumble and the O capitalized on it when JaCory hit his other TE Dedrick Epps for a 11 yd TD to put us up 14-10. After more great D JaCory threw his 3rd TD midway through the qt to Travis Benjamin over the middle on 3rd down for 38 yds, 21-10. Stoops was all in his DBs face for the mix up in coverage. DeMarco Murray had a 2 yd TD run late in the 3rd to cut the lead to 21-17 going into the 4th. After good defense from both teams OU finally broke through getting a FG with 4:18 left to make it 21-20. Assuming we would just try to run out the clock and play defense if needed to win it OU packed the line and our offensive coordinater being the genius he is called an amazing play action roll out where JaCory completed the pass for a first down. Just incredible play calling after the early mistakes but esp on that final drive that went 11 plays and ran out the final 4 min of the game.
We had 12 penalties for 115 yds but the Sooners could not capitalize on them as we scored 21 straight to win it. Harris completed 19 of his 28 passes for 202 yds and the 3 TDs and 2 ints. JaCory did a great job managing the team after his first 4 passes went 2 complete and 2 intercepted. He completed 17/24 to finish and 9/10 and one point. The running game was also on point with Javarris James going for a career high 150 yds on only 15 carries. The Senior had his longest run since his freshman year, a 50 yarder in the second qt to set up the first TD. DaU!!! IZ BACK PEOPLE!!! LOVE IT OR HATE IT IT DONT MATTER YOU HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO DEAL WITH THIS U-SWAGG!!!

Last week I was off on my NFL picks as well as my college picks, going 7-5 in the league and only 5-4 in college. My overall record is 12-7 NFL and 13-9 college. I once again would have done better if I had not second guest myself a few times. The Niners would have beaten the Vikes if Gore would not have got hurt. My Canes didnt show up and I knew Wash couldnt keep the momentum after the SC upset. Cinncy is real!!! Tennesse is in REAL trouble!!! As for this week I am having trouble deciding on a few as we have some major match ups such as NYJ/NO great D vs great O. SD/Pitt chargers have never won against Pitt in the reg season but the Steelers are in almost as much trouble as the Titans. Will Tenn finally put in Vince so they can start winning vs Jax and who sucks more, TB or Wash? Can Detroit keep it going at Chi which was the place of their last road win in 07. Bal/NE can my boys Ray and Ed keep the Ravens undefeated GB/Min Rodgers/Favre who will come out on top and Dal/Den whos fake and whos rea?
