Gotta start off with my Eagles!!! We kicked Carolina ass 38-10. The D was amazing Sheldon Brown (top 10 CB) had 2 ints. We forced the old and washed up Jake Delhomme to throw 4 ints and fumble once coming off his horrible performance last year in their only playoff game hosting Arizona where he threw 5 ints with a fumble. That was their only lost at home off the season after going 8-0 during the regular season. Well we start em off 0-1 this year. But the win came at a cost, on a dirty hit by #92 Damione Lewis a 6'2" 301lb DT (DAMN &he from DaU too) on Donovan McNabb after he had already scored on a scramble to put us up 38-10. McNabb suffered a fractured rib on the hit. It is unknown if he will be able to play next week against the Saints are not. We have 2nd year QB Kevin Kolb on the roster but Michael Vick will not be able to play until week 3. We cut A.J. Feely after the preseason and hasd thoughts of bringing him back now but he had an oppurtunity to go to New England or Carolina for the rest of the season and chose Carolina. The reason the spot was open there is because after Delhomme was benched newly aquired backup Josh McCown came in and got hurt, he has been placed on the IR so his seaon is over. So we decided to go get another former Eagle QB the proven winner Jeff Garcia who had recently requested to be cut from Oakland after they decided to stick with JaMarcus Russell. Garcia comes in as insurance for us. If the injury to McNabb is serious and he cant go for some time and Kolb cant perform right and Coach Reid is unsure about Vick as our main QB he knows what he has in Garcia. We also have lost Shawn Andrews for the season after he missed the entire preseason with a back injury his back will need additional surgery. Also Michael Vick has been activated to the 53 man roster making him eligible to practice with team. This means he can get used to playing with the starters in real gametime plays not just his package, this will help him get ready if called upon. I like bringing in Jeff because Mike cant play this week and we have Super Bowl on our mind meaning every game counts if DNabb cant go we cant just lay down if Kolb struggles no let Jeff in he can make it happen.
Now to speak a little on my AFC squad, the Colts. We beat Jacksonville 14-12 another hard fought defensive battle between the two AFC South rivals. The only action that happen in the scoreless 1st qt was Anthony Gonzalez, 3rd year WR out of Ohio St who was set this year to replace retired future Hall Of Famer Marvin Harrison, going down with a knee injury. It was real crazy to see hi m get hurt because it was one of those freak no contact injuries. He did not return to the game and will be out 2-6 weeks with the strained knee. Reggie Wayne took over how he does with 10 cat for 162 yds and the game deciding TD in the 3rd qt. In the 4th the only score was from Maurice Jones-Drew of thw Jags he had 21 car for 97 yds wit hthat TD. They went for two to tie the game at 14 and failed. Peyton Manning finisheed with 301 yds on 28-38 passing an amazing 74%.
The season kicked off Thursday night in Pittsburgh where the defending champ Steelers hosts the Tennessee Titans. The Steelers prevailed in overtime 13-10. It was a great defensive controled game as expected. Ben Rothlisburger had 363 yds on 33-43 77%. His top reciever was Super Bowl MVP Santonio Holmes whose numbers where nearly equal to what he put up in the Super Bowl 9 cat 131 yds 1TD. The game was nearly loose for Pitt when reliable vet. Hines Ward fumbled inside the redzone. The Titans went down and missed a would be game winning field goal it went to OT and the rest is history.
After everything that went on with the Denver Broncos in the offseason from firing long time Head Coach Mike Shanahan, hiring young Josh McDaneils as his replacement, him pissing off Jay Cutler who was set to be the franchise QB then they had to trade him, Brandon Marshell feeling disrespected and doing what he do and everything else none of it matters now. Why? Because they did the unthinkable and won a game..lol well they were playing Cinncinatti. It still took a freak play right out of Madden the video game to make it happen. Denver had two field goals to go into the 4th qt with a 6-0 lead then late Cinncy got a TD from Cedric Benson and went up 7-6 with only 33 sec left. Kyle Orton threw up a prayer to the talented Marshell which was covered perfectly by the Bengles but they didnt expect what happen next. Brandon Stokely came over and caught the ball off the tip and took it in for the go ahead 87 yd TD. What caped it off was before he ran into the endzone he ran along the goaline to run off more time from the clock. Fnal score 12-7
Minnesota beat Cleveland 34-20 led by of course a great day from the leagues best RB Adrian Peterson. AD had 180 yds rushing on 25 carries a 7.2 ypc avg and 3 TDs. Thats the formula for them to make it to the Super Bowl, alot of AD great D and Favre manage. The near 40 yr older had only 110 yds on 14-21.
AD had the best day running overall well Drew Brees had the best day passing. In leading his New Orleans Saints to a 45-27 victory over the now you could consider them 0-18 Detriot Lions Brees threw for 358 yds on 26-34 76% and had 6 yes count em 6TDs. This guy is amazing and if youve known me long enough then you know its no lie that I knew he would be great when everyone else thought he would suck, Im talking Purdue days and San Diego should have believed in him but I knew about Rivers also from his freshman year at North Carolina St. Mike Bell who the Saints just got this year who was a RB converted into a FB and now is back at playing the RB is big trouble for the former #2 overall BUST from USC Reggie Bush. Why because he had 143 yds on 28 carries holding Bush to only 14yds on 7 carries. Plus you cant forget about Pierre Thomas he will be back soon to so Mr. Bush might as well just get his postion listed as Return Specialist/WR because its over for him as a RB.... like he ever was one in the league anyway lol.
Now for Larry and Joe and all you other Cowgi... oops I mean Cowboy fans out there...lol. Yea they beat Tampa Bay 34-21 breaking away in the 2nd half after a close 1st where Tony Romo was off and inaccurate. After halftime Romo took care of the pitiful Tampa secondary conecting for 2 of his 3 TDs to 3 different WRs. 1st up was a 41 yder to Miles Austin where he made a great move and pick up most of the yds after the catch. Then he hit Roy Williams (who you cowboy fans dont respect so yall need to send him to my team) for a 66 yd TD and in the 4th Patrick Crayton for 80 yds. The Tampa DBs SUCK!!! Barber needs to retire and Talib still has growth to do and I dont even know the other nobodys. All yall think this win ment alot HAHAHA ok we will see this week when yall play the Giants because I honestly didnt see much to make me say "damn da cowboys might actually do summin dis year." Just being honest sorry dont get mad. Caddilac and Ward still ran for 159 yds on 25 carries combined and Leftwich didnt have a bad day just didnt have the benefit of going against a secondary that was confused and didnt know their assignments like Romo. Romo finished with a career high 353 yds on 16-27 passing. Also correct me if Im wrong but dont these guys start off like this every year but oh well it never means anything in December and they dont even make it to January most of the time.
San Francisco my franchise team on Madden 09 and my pick in the NFC West beat the defending NFC West and Super Bowl looser Arizona Cardinals 20-16. Shaun Hill went 18-31 for 209 yds and a TD and had help from THE MOST UNDERRATED RB IN THE LEAGUE Frank Gore. Although Frank was held in check by the Cards the Niners consistently went to him to wear down the D and keep them honest. While San Frans D led by THE BEST YOUNG LB IN THE LEAGUE Patrick Willis stuffed Ari run game and made them one deminsional. Larry Fitzgerald who most consider the leagues best WR had 6 cat for 71 yds and his counterpart Anquan Boldin only had 2 cat 19 yds.
The Sunday Night season which looks t ohave alot of great rivalries on was kicked off with the Green Bay Packers hosting their biggest rivals the Chicago Bears. This is the leagues longest rivalry. I believe this was one of the best games of the weekend. In his debut with the Bears Jay Cutler threw 4 ints but if you really pay attention to them I feel lie only one was out right his fault, when he rolled out and threw the ball back across his body. There was one that was just an incredible play by Jolly a 300+lb DT another the other two where on his WRs including the final one at the end when they where trying to drive down for the win and Al Harris took it. The running game was nonexsistant so that didnt help him either. Both OLines where horrible in this one having both great young QBs under pressure all game. Aaron Rodgers was under fire from Adewale Ogunleye the whole game and he got to him for 2 sacks as he destoyed the T. Cutler was 17-36 for 277 yds and 1 TD to his top WR the speedy Devin Hester who caught 4 passes for 90 yds also. Rodgers was 17-28 184 yds and connected with his top gun Greg Jennings for his only TD which was the game winner. Jennings caught 6 passes for 106 yds. He beat Nathan Vasher for the 50 yd TD. Final score 21-15. The worst news of the night was not the lost game but the loss of their leader Brian Urlacher who suffered a dislocated right wrist early on he had surgery today and will miss the remainder of the season. The good in that was they still played very well defensivly without him. Dont worry Jay ya boys gonna bounce back and still have a good season. I truely believe that... yall know this my shit I aint here to make nobody feel good with lies Ima keep it 1000% homie and thats what I really think BALEE-DAT!!! TRILL TALK!!!
HOW THE HELL DID NEW ENGLAND WIN LAST NIGHT??? Oh yea I remember they were playing Buffalo. These guys just find a way to loose esp on Monday Night. I take you back two years ago they had Dallas beat and I believe loss by the same exact score after letting them come back in the 4th. They held the Pats to 10 pts going into the 4th qt and were up a TD. They went up 24-13 with 5:32 left and the great Randy Moss said Tom Brady came to the huddle and said "We're gonna win this game!" After that Brady hit Benjamin Watson for a TD then on the kickoff Leodis McKelvin did not knell in the endzone insted brought it out with about 2:00 left he was rocked by Brandon Merriweather and stripped of the ball. Pats recovered the fumble and of course Brady capitalized hitting Watson again this time for the go ahead and game winning TD 25-24. Tom was 39-53 for 378 yds with those two TDs. Moss and Welker both caught 12 passes Welker for 93 yds and Randy had 141 yds. Trent Edwards the Bills QB had a good game 15-25 for 212 yds and 2 TDs. He has been under heavy criticism but he was not to blame for this lose. TO on the other hand..... lol forget it he had 2 cat for 46 yds.
I just realized that the NFL Network has decided that the best 4 games of week 1 where Tenn/Pitt (of course like I said), Chi/GB (said that one too), Buff/NE (yep had that one down) & KC/Bal... WWOOWWW!!! Now I love the Ravens (best D ever over a decade period of time) but naw they won by 14 pts I understand they broke away at the end but still the three before 3pts, 6pts, and 1pt. There was also others that were close but the other game lastnight between San Diego and Oakland should have been on there. Final score Chargers winning 24-20 and that being very VERY controversial to me because there was an Oak TD called back in the 2nd qt and they had to settle for 3. The replay clearly showed the rookie WR who would later in the 4th get his 1st career TD on a beautiful throw by JaMarcus, caught the ball and got two feet down in the endzone. Yes it did come out later not even when he initially hit the ground but that should not have gotten the TD overruled. This was the hardest hitting game I saw all weekend every one was suprised at how good Oak looked as they came out running all over the Charger D with Shawne Marriman back in the lineup. McFadden and Bush finished with 123 yds on 29 carries and a Bush TD. The most underrated TE in the league Zach Miller was Russells main target as always with 6 cat for 96 yds and the rookie Murphy had 4 cat 87 yds with his TD. JaMarcus was 12-30 for 208 yds and threw 2 ints the first of which not really his fault. LT in the year hes trying to prove that he still has it only had 13 carries for 55 yds. He rolled his ankle in the game. Phillip Rivers led the team to the come back victory with 252 yds on 24-36 and a TD and int. On the final drive trailing 17-20 Rivers and Sproles led them down for the win. I feel Oak got fucked by the refs on that call and it shouldve been 24-17 Oak on that drive. That way SD would have had to have the TD for OT and a FG would have been out of the question. But insted they couldve kicked a FG to take it to OT and the TD would win it which is what happen. Even with my feelings on the missed TD Oak shouldve played better D on that drive so oh well.
Signing out DaKING, Jody-Jo.....YEZZIR!!! BALEE-DAT
