It looks like the Utah Jazz will match the offer sheet given out by the Portland TrailBlazers to RFA Paul Millsap last week. The contract is 4yrs worth 32mil. The Blazers tried to make it very first year heavy by giving him a big signing bonus where he will earn a whole lot over the first year of the deal so Utah wouldnt match it but their efforts failed. This will put the Jazz over the luxury tax by about 11mil with adding on all their other players who will return as well as first round pick Eric Maynor if they dont clear up any money by the end of the season. They plan on trading starting PF Carlos Boozer this will make Paul the starter. They told Booz he wasnt in their longterm plans so apparently Millsap is.
You better be ready to step ya game up young boy because now you got that money the people expecting alot from you. Not saying homie aint already a star in the making, last year in his 3rd year he got the oppurntunity to start 38 of the 76 games he played in (he only stared 3 his previous two seasons where he didnt miss a game). He had career highs all around the board, 13.5pts 8.6reb 1.8ast 1.0stl & 1.0blk. He played 30.1mpg & shot 53.4% from the field and 69.9% from the line.
This is going to piss the Blazers off because once again their back at square one having not mad any improvements to go around AllStar SG Brandon Roy. Carlos' most likely destination is Chicago as I reported in an earlier blog it will be a 3team trade where they will get Tyrus Thomas in return and Chi will also send Kirk Hinrich to Portland for players to be announced later. This will help out Por a little because it will give them a legitimate starting PG and they can play Steve Blake off the bench where he belongs.
Signing out DaKING, Jody-Jo .....YEZZIR!!! BALEE-DAT
