So the Dallas Mavericks mustve heard me when I took away the award I had previously given them for having the best offseason when they kept the legend Jason Kidd, got rid of Jerry Stackhouses contract and added the great Shawn Marion. The reason I took it away of course was because they where not able to keep RFA Marcin Gortat who they signed to an offer sheet, Orlando matched it against Gortats wishes. But they have now signed Drew Gooden who will help them in the bulk area. Im big on Gooden, Ive said recently that I would to have him in OKC (my young team that I love) or with my beloved Lakers IF we could not resign LO (Ill get to that later). Gooden is a true PF at the perfect size for one in my opinion at 6'10" 250 but in todays NBA that is a solid size for a Center as well seeing that the position is pretty much nonexistent which has forced PFs to play it and SFs to play PF. I would start him along side Dirk and over Dampier.
The team Gooden ended the season with last year the San Antonio Spurs add another veteran big man for defensive purposes, Theo Ratliff.
Now for the big news, my Lakers are being pushed to the limit by LO and his agent. It has been reported that unless we increase our offer to him he will accept the 5yr 35mil offer from the Miami Heat who he played one year with in 2003-04 Dwayne Wades rookie season. I really dont get it or understand why he would take less money (7mil a yr) to go anywhere else esp since anywhere else is a worse team than us. We can give him more money and more rings over the rest of his career. We offered him two deals both worth more money but not as many years, 3yrs 30mil (the 10mil a yr he wanted) and 4yrs 36mil (9mil a yr). LO will turn 30 on Nov. 6th (the day after my moms birthday and day before my baby sisters). He finally got the ring he had been wanting for so long over his 10yr career, but I just hope hes hungry for more and not let the fact the he doesnt start for us affect his ego. The only benifit he would get in going else where is he would start and have a chance at making his first AllStar Game which he has always deserved because his talent is on the level of the superstars of the league. But I mean come on LO dont let pride the one thing that can break a man everytime come in between you making the best decision for yourself and your family (or at least thats my opinion). So often you hear athletes say "its not personal its just business" and "I have to make the best choice for my family" and every time theyre talking bout why they chose to leave a team for more money but in this case LO cant make more money anywhere else.
I love you LO, LA loves you, Kobe loves you we just brought in a guy who is like a brother to you in Ron who youve played with your entire life and he loves you. The whole team and organization loves you, you are a fan favorite, the crowd is electric when your on your game. We all know Kobe is Kobe but you are the heart of our team like Scottie, Horace, or Ron Harper to Jordans Bulls. STAY IN LA!!!!
Signing out DaKING, Jody-Jo.....YEZZIR!!! BALEE-DAT
